Barsotti Vineyard

This vineyard is striking. It is situated at 2,700 ft. elevation in the Sierra Foothills. It is built on the most unique soils of decomposed granite and milk quartz resulting in earth of a deep burnt orange hue with chunks of glitter. Farmed by two of my favorite individuals, father and son duo Ron and Chuck Mansfield, who are responsible for elevating the El Dorado County AVA, rebels in their own right. The Gamay was planted in 2010, is on a unique "Lodi ladder" trellis system and is absolutely beautiful.
