Barsotti Vineyard

Sierra Foothills AVA
Looking down a vineyard row of Barsotti vineyard with trees and mountain in background.

The vineyard that started it all. With help from my friend Scott Schultz, after years on the waitlist, I finally got in. Truthfully, I wasn't going to start my brand unless I could get my hands on this fruit. It was worth the wait.

Situated at 2,700 ft. elevation in the Sierra Foothills, this striking vineyard is built on the most unique soils of decomposed granite and milk quartz resulting in earth of a deep burnt orange hue with chunks of glitter. Farmed by two of my favorite individuals, father and son duo Ron and Chuck Mansfield, who are rebels in their own right. The Gamay was planted in 2010 for winemaker Steve Edmonds using a unique "Lodi ladder" trellis system and is absolutely beautiful.
